Fig.-The Civil Disobedience Movement
In 1930 Gandhi gave the call for continuing the Civil Disobedience Movement started in 1921 but suspended by him in 1922 after violence at Chauri-Chaura. This time too, large number of people participated in demonstrations and protest marches across the country. In this picture, an effigy of a British soldier is being carried in a procession through Bombay streets for being burned.
