FULL NAME: Randy P. Valiente

DATEOF BIRTH: July 1, 1974

LOCATION: Quezon City, PHILIPPINES

At the age of 14, Randy Valiente started as a comics illustrator in 1988. He became a full-time writer/novelist in 1995 and wrote many stories and articles for comics, pocketbooks, tabloids, magazines, radio and theatre. He won several awards in literature, and became "Novelist of the Year" and "Best Playwright". Worked also as an editor for the Weekly Monitor newspaper and an editor-in-chief for Dyaryo Agila.

He's the co-founder and former president of 1AM (No. 1 Artists Movement) - a writers and artists' organization.

Randy conducted several workshops for the last four years. His workshops includes dynamic human figure drawing, comics illustration for beginners, and novel writing. A proud student of Mr. Hal Santiago, Philippines' finest comics illustrator.

His soon to be released book entitled "Pambalot ng Tinapa (Isang Pagtanaw sa Komiks ng Pilipino)" (Smoked Fish Wrapper: An In-depth Look at Filipino Comics) published by Goodwill Bookstore. Topics include history of the comics industry, the artists behind the novels including the top caliber writers. The book also tells Randy's past experiences, the lessons he learned from his mentor, and his fight to preserve the dying filipino comics industry.

He's currently working for his new book "Malikhaing Komiks" (Creative Comics).
