About Ascend |
FAQ How
long has Ascend been in business? Ascend's
principal, Douglas Arnold, began commercial workshop
and training programs
in 1988 -- but has been professionally conducting workshop, seminars and
other business presentations since 1974. What
is difference between a seminar and a workshop? A
seminar is a program conducted for a specific organization with all participants
being from that business or organization. The audience tends to know
one another as co-workers or through group membership. The program is often
conducted at the home office or branch of the requesting organization and this
group pays for all the attendees. A workshop is an open program where a number
of participants from diverse organizations assemble together. The audience
generally does not know one another, usually come from a number of organizations
and each participant pays an individual fee to attend. What
does it cost for a seminar? The
cost is typically $25 to $50 per participant with a minimum fee agreed to in advance.
Travel and accommodation expenses are above and beyond the per person
fee. Seminar materials, such as workbooks, are included in the per person
fee. Seminars have class sizes from as small as 10 to as large as 100 or more. What
does it cost for a workshop? Workshops
are paid for by each individual participant. Costs vary from as low as $75
per person to as high as $495 per person depending upon the total number of
participants attending, where the workshop is being held and if amenities
such as
lunch are included. Workshops typically have smaller class sizes -- usually
in the range of 20 to 50. |
