The following photos were taken on 7/8/99 morning at one of
the Pos Slim waterfalls.
This is a Katydid of the family:Phyllopridae.The genus and species
name is unknown.This is a female as indicated by the sharp and hard
projection at end of the abdomen which is use for digging the ground
to lay
eggs.The tiny holes at the body are use for breathing.Other species
are
usually green and leaf like. Some of them are small and look exactly
like a
dead leaf for protection.When disturbed,they will lift up their
back in
defensive and agressive posture. |
