Mathew shows how to retrieve toads from one of the 26 new road drains. If these drains are not checked regularly throughout the year many amphibians die either from the pollutants or from starvation. March 2001.
This female toad has lots of eggs and was found in one of the car park drains. March 2001.
On this particular evening during the spring migration 30 frogs and toads were returned to the Saxon Gate pond. March 2001.

Yet again archaeological excavations wreak havoc amongst the amphibian population of Saxon Gate, placing more importance on the past than the future. March 2001.
Despite the archaeological excavations some frogs and toads still managed to reach the new road. Mathew makes sure they complete the journey. March 2001.
