Some stuff about Tom I am 37 years old and I live in Dallas, Texas with my dog, Gus. He is a German Shepherd mix who I rescued from the SPCA. He is so happy to have a home, and someone who loves him. I guess he is sorta like my child now. Although I do have an 18 year old beautiful daughter named Rachel who lives in Missouri. But I really don't think I look old enough to have an 18 year old! But don't look too close for the wrinkles! I grew up in the country in Missouri, on a small farm by a river in the Ozarks...it was beautiful, but a little too backwards thinking for me to stay....so I have lived here in Dallas for almost 20 years...except for probably about 3 years that I spent living in other places for short periods...as a computer contractor...as an Army Reserve Medic...and also 6 months in San Diego when I just needed to get away from it all! I live in Oak Lawn now...and work about 3 miles from home in CityPlace. I work for a new .com company...hoping it does well! I love to read the news on the internet...and stay in contact with my friends via e-mail. My favorite music is probably c&w, but I like all kinds. I have recently started playing the violin again...and really like it! May sound sorta nerdy.....but it really can make beautiful, emotional music...if you know how! I love to go camping, exploring, hiking, tubing, skiing, and other activities along those lines. Not much on fishing and definitely not hunting...But I was into all that when I was young...so if I was put in the middle of the woods in Alaska...I would like to think that I could build a great shelter and hunt and fish and survive! That has always been sort of a fantasy for me. I don't really like football or most other professional sports! I know, that's probably considered un-American or something....definitely un-Texan...but I don't do things just to go with the crowd....and I have certain feelings about the glorification of those supposed sports heroes. I think more glory should be given to those in our society who help people, who think, so create, and also those who haul our trash, make sure we have fresh water, etc. Oh well, I'll get off the soapbox. I guess if I could live anywhere...and not miss my friends...I would live in the mountains in Colorado...or near the beach...or somewhere beautiful like that. But so far...it seems my fate is here in Dallas...but I am open to leaving someday. My best friend, Jody, lives in Austin in a great house overlooking the Barton Springs Greenbelt. I love Barton Springs..and if you love it too, well, let me know! I don't meet many people who even know what or where it is! I really like Austin, and get away to there when I can. I am going to start a journal, so you can learn more about me if you would like! Thanks for sharing a few moments of your life getting to know me! |
