I have tried to keep the graphics to a minimum on these pages because I don't want you to wait a long time to see what I have to say.
I have, however added just a few small pictures to just add life to my pages. Please enjoy!
One of the reasons that the wolves have been persecuted almost to the point of extinction, is the fact that no one knows the facts about these creatures. For many centuries now the wolf has had a bad reputation as far as humans are concerned. The silhouette of the wolf used to be used to strike fear into the hearts of thousands of people. Many myths, fables, sayings, and folklore have added to the bad reputation of the wolf. In many old sayings, the animal is a symbol of badness or evil. For example, "to keep the wolf from the door" means to prevent hunger or poverty. To call a person a wolf means that they are greedy or cruel. "A wolf in sheep's clothing" describes a person who acts friendly but has evil intentions.  In the story of Little Red Riding Hood, a wolf threatens to eat a little girl. In the fairy tale of the Three Little Pigs, who gets the bad rep once again? Never mind don't answer that!
There are a few myths and fairy tales that do help to brighten this tainted image though, for centuries the wolf has been depicted as a symbol of fighting prowess, courage, and endurance. Beowulf, the legendary Anglo-Saxon hero, named himself after the wolf, and North American Indians used the name for their most powerful warriors. Munsee (sometimes called Wolf), a North American Indian tribe of the Delaware family used the wolf as their totem. There have been numerous stories of wolves that have raised human children from infancy, as in the story of two roman gods, Romulus and Remus, or in more popular character Moglie from "The Jungle Book".
