TURTLE SITES ON THE INTERNET

NOTE: I have included a list of Turtle Sites, that I have found from other turtlesites on the Web. I have also included a blurb about the site to give people a general idea what the site contains. They should also be a date next to the blurb to let you know when was the last time I wrote the blurb, whihc means if a good amount of time has passed sinice then, there may have been a change in content, so don't shoot me! If you know of a site, please send me the URL. Language doesn't matter.

Links. = The Page has links to other Turtle Sites (Some are repeated)

Professionals

Dr. David T KirkpartickX[ WEBSITE ]
"The Doctor is in the House!" Just had to say that. He has some wonderful pics of baby Mud turtles (8 pics). How cute! Excellent articules concerning turtles. TECHNICALLY, he is not a profession in the Animal/Turtle Field, but has written on Turtles & Tortoises, and sometimes on lizards. He his curently working with Yeast... I DON'T WANT TO KNOW! 01/12/98

Melissa Kaplan Herp HomepageX[ WEBSITE ]
Ok, it's not a dedicated Turtle site, but she is a professional in the Animal Field, and does have some very good reference material concerning turtles.01/12/98

What can I say, the boy LOVES his turtles. He loves them so much, he has two sites!!! He gets two thumbs up, just for that alone.01/12/98

The BIGCHELON Turtle PageX[ WEBSITE ]
It's a cute site with some pictures of his turtles (this guy has more turtles than the Bronx Zoo probably), housing, feeding, and cagin tips on Semi-Aquatic Turtle, plus other tips; Publication list of Turtle Books currently available; and links to other sites.01/12/98

Teppo's Turtle pageX[ WEBSITE ]
Teppo's site so some very good clear pictures of his turtles, but nothing else on turtle care. It's just info on him and his turtles. The pictures, I do enjoy, BUT... Teppo, if you ever read this. PLEASE redo the Width&Height of the images on the main page, and have them link to the real photos, so it doesn't take so long to download. There are some disguntled ppl out there as a result of that. LOL.01/12/98

The Turtle Pages by Jeff DawsonX[ WEBSITE ]
Possible one of the Top Turtle sites on the NET that I have seen[based on visual appearance]. He has valuable information on his site. He gets Four Turtles from me.01/12/98

Valerie Haecky's Turtle Information PageX[ WEBSITE ]
Done in Plain Text format for accessibility to a wide diversity of people (those who are still running on 286s, with a 300baud modem, and 16colors; LOL!!!) But seriously, it is a wise decision on her part to leave it in a plain text format: quicker download time for impatient ppl. She provides a good deal of information, possibly the most seen on one site, and see is not a profession (in a degree sense), but seems to give the impression of one, nonetheless.01/12/98

The Turtle StopX[ WEBSITE ]
A site with some nice clear photos of Turtles, though the image are somewhat LARGE on each page, so download time is a waiting factor for those on slow connections. There is a listing of 19 or so turtles with a description for each. Links.01/12/98

The Almost Amazing Turtle CamX[ WEBSITE ]
Pretty Cool site. It is a Live Camera that displays an updated still-picture of 5 turtles in a tank, every minute. (You must refresh your browser, or go to the page that does it for you. It's like the Green Version of "Party of Five". Links.01/12/98

CHELONIOPAGEX[ WEBSITE ]
A Swedish/English site, done in Frames. Nice Graphics on the site01/12/98

L2FEINER's Page (No Title Posted)X[ WEBSITE ]
A site about her and her turtles. It's cute. Links and possibly the first person to put a link to my page. =-).01/12/98

Very Impressive in the Classification Structure of Reptile. It's a Texts site, but definitely worth the visit. Oh, by the way, learn the Latin Names of the Reptiles; you don't want to confused with Trachemys scripta elegans, and end up with a subspecies frmo the Psuedemys Genus. LOL. {Turtle Jokes}01/12/98

An online Emailing Discussion Group. It could be better, if people did not use it for communicating to just one or two individuals. Within 60 hours, I received 230 messages!!! I was so disappointed when only 5-10 of those messages had actually content concerning Turtles. Everything else was more of a personal nature. 01/12/98

It has been said that turtles do not have good hearing, but have excellent sensitivity towards vibrations.
