Part IV Ubehebe Crater

CraterUbehebe Crater is an inverted cone, half a mile in diameter at the top, 800 feet deep, and 450 feet in diameter at the bottom. Essentally an (phreatic) explosion pit, or explosion crater, that did not build a large cone; there are several smaller craters of the same kind in the vicinity. The age of this volcanic action is on the order of 1000's of years according to the literature.
