Kalahari Gemsbok National Park

Road to Wonderful Nowhere
Most of the Park
consists of red
dunes with a
limited amount
of vegetation.
The roads are
quite rough and
some of them can
actually make
you seasick
going up and
down the dunes.

Most of the
animals can be
found in the
dry riverbeds
of the Nossob
and Mata Mata
rivers. This is
also the only
place you will
see green.
Sunsets that will take your breath away
I don't know if it
was coincidence,
but the three
sunsets we saw here
were the most
beautiful we have
ever experienced.
We sometimes wished
that the sun will
stop so that we
could take the
beauty in for just
one second longer.
What a New Year celebration!!
This was the last
sunset we saw for
the year 1998.

That night we
entered 1999 with
two big rump steaks,
a few bottles of
wine and jackals
that tried to join
the feast by
stealing the meat
off the fire.
