They are probably just doing it in order of purchase dates.. I have two orders in, and the one with the earlier date says the books are on the way, where as the second order does not.

I just checked my account status and it said my order is still open....I ordered the hardback on May 25th. Is it because I did not order it sooner, or....hmmmm....anyone have any idea?

Good to know, Win.
My order was a hardcover in May but then I cancelled it to go to June 13th for a paperback.
Can't wait!!! *shake and shiver*

Well, just to describe what I am seeing.. I have one order made on June 16, and it is still open, but under the more detailed description, it says it is "soon to be delivered". The July 19th on one the other hand, is still open, but in place of the "soon to be delivered" it says "book is not released from publisher yet". Just letting you know.

My order also says, "soon to be delivered." However, the availability status changed on amazon.co.uk to: usually shipped within 24 hours.
This bodes well.

I checked my order status, and it says that the books has entered the shipping process and will be dispatched shortly.
I ordered the hardcover, but got Priority Express shipping. I don't know if this means it ships earlier, but the paperback I ordered for a friend (Standard Shipping), has not yet entered the shipping process.
So, assuming the book ships within the next 24 hours, I should be receiving it in a few days (don't know how long Priority Express shipping takes.)
I only ordered the hardcover a couple of days ago, and it's about to ship, but the paperback I ordered a month ago still hasn't entered the shipping process.
If you don't mind spending extra on Priority shipping, you'll probably receive it earlier.
It's a bit steep. but still way, way cheaper then the Meisha Merlin books. Besides, I don't think I could wait another 21 days for this one.

At UK Amazon mine says . . . open order and being processed.
But again, I ordered a regular paperback and not at priority mail . . . just regular air mail. I can wait if I know it's on the way. :)

Oooooooh I'm going to be hyper pissed if the softcover is slower than the hardcover. I originally order the Hardcover, but when the release date was changed and they were both changed to the same Aug day I figured, 'why pay more for the HC? and proceeded to order the soft cover instead.
Dag NABBIT that pisses me off. I sure hope they ship the soft cover in the next couple of days!!!
I ordered july 18th and the status still says 'not yet released by publisher' (or something like that).
Anyone else ording the paperback that states otherwise?

I just ordered the hardcover. I'll check my account everyday until one of them ships and then cancel the other one. I'll only get screwed if they both ship within the same 12-24 hour period.
I WILL HAVE THIS BOOK DARN IT!!!

Aaron,
It's poor consolation, but thanks for sharing that episode with us. That was hilarious.

Thats what I get for getting drunk at the titty bar last night. Those money grubbing... HEY! I can't be held responsible for how much I spend when I'm inebriated. When the most perfect human female creature on earth ask you if you want an exotic nude lapdance while holding a Heineken, can of whip cream, bottle of baby oil and a box of tissues money is NO object. heehee
(This of course is a bunch of rubbish. They don't serve imported beer at those kind of places.)
