According to HO Dreamworks are working on another Haunted house epic called
"We Have Always Lived in the Castle."
Mark Kruger (who worked with Bill Condon as writer of Candyman 2: Farewell
to the Flesh) will be writing the script, while Jack Rapke and Robert Zemeckis
will produce it. It is based on the Shirley JAckson novel (HO is claiming
to be getting a an interview with Shirley Jackson but from all accounts
she is dead.). The plot in a nutshell "A family lives alone in a
sprawling estate, despite the fact that four of them have died of mysterious
arsenic poisoning. Everything seems to be tolerable until a distant relative
arrives, asking questions no one wants to hear the answers to." (HO)
This will be the 3rd Jackson novel turned into a horror film, The others
being "The Haunting of Hill House" and recently (1996) "The
Lottery" starring Keri Russell... Shirley Jackson Died on August 8
1965 according to IMDB, she was born 14th od December 1916 in San Francisco.
