Aire Valley MGR

Milford junction is a Mecca for enthusiasts seeking a good mix of Northern freight operation.  Between the steel trains and mixed freight, this location offers a steady procession of MGR workings and also coal traffic in NP hoppers.  Class 58s were relatively rare before the days of EWS, the stable diet of the Aire Valley MGR circuits was the Class 56 until ousted by Class 59/2s and Class 66s.  During 1998, some Class 58s sneaked in on various MGR turns such as 58 015 crossing over onto the Castleford line.
