Pragmatic design from Oz...for motorising multiple units in 4mm scale. The Black Beetles were designed prmarily for a single kit, but thankfully for us, the designer was forward thinking enough to give consideration to modellers needs. What emerged was a design that could, by the use of grub screws, be adjusted for wheelbase. Add the flexibility of differing wheel sizes and standards and modellers in 4mm scale have the ultimate in flexibility for two axle drives. It meets the requirements of finescale OO, and EM gauges with nickel silver wheels available in two standards. The drive is via 15:1 metal gears with a standard Mashima can motor providing the power. A dummy version is available with wheels and phosphor bronze strip used as current collectors acting on the back face of each wheel.
