Appleby Model Engineering kit.
This model of the former Southern
Region General Managers' saloon owes its origins to a MTK kit. Rebuilt with much
added detail, etched stainless steel window frames and careful finishing in matt varnish
have added to a good overall appearance. This is one of the few MTK kits produced
from brass.
One of Lima's better models is the
Class 73, a particular favourite of mine. This one is enhanced with grilles from A1
Models and finished in Mainline livery.

The Hornby MGR forms the basis for
this simple conversion from AME.
Scratchbuilding is one way of
obtaining models of wagons not available as kits or rtr models. Styrene is the base
material for this model of a French registered Polybulk.
