Submission Guidelines

The Xanadu Literary Agency accepts both fiction and non-fiction in all genres from published and non-published authors.

There is no absolute limitation on length but we would recommend that 250,000 words should be about the maximum.

The ONLY stipulation is that you follow the submission guidelines and procedure:

1) Make sure that the manuscript has been fastidiously proof-read and preferably professionally edited by a good editorial service (please review our selected companies).

2) The manuscript has to be in English (British or American- again please review our selected companies).

3) All manuscripts should be double-spaced; in New Times Roman or Arial Font; Chapters on new pages and with spaced borders (left & right).

4)  All manuscripts MUST be formatted either in Word (.doc) or Rich Text File (.rtf). No other formats will be allowed.

5) Authors must send us :

a) A one or two page detailed synopsis (including characters, plot, page length and overall structure of the book. Non-fiction should include a contents page with explanations).

b) The first THREE chapters of your manuscript or the first 10-15,000 words.

c) A brief resume of the author including any accreditations, published books (with ISBN�s) and a small gif/jpeg photograph (not obligatory).

d) Authors may send their works either by email or by ordinary snail mail. If you are sending by snail mail please include the work(s) on 31/2 floppy disks. Please remember to SAVE all your work(s) on hardcopy as well as separate disks- The Xanadu Agency is not liable to any missing manuscripts. If you would like your disks returned please include sufficient IRC�s (International Reply Coupons) or ordinary postage if your abode is within the UK. And lastly please always do a virus scan on the documents before sending them to the Xanadu Agency.
