Dont panic said Valerie, Its just switching on. Just listen and youll hear The sounds are all gone. But now, heres the question, A terrible thought- How do we work it ? Weve never been taught. What shall we do ? Said Veronica sadly, This really is going so terribly badly. |

And all of a sudden, A great puff of smoke Came from under the table And made them all choke. And they knew as they picked Themselves up from the floor, That they didnt know anything More than before. I know said Vera, If we want to learn fast, Lets read the instructions, Lets give it a blast. What an idea, They all agreed And then they sat quietly By the window to read. |

A computer, said Val, With printer as well, And a note saying, Now you can type out your spells, Instead of you having to use pen and ink, You can now print them neatly Before you can blink. Lets turn it on then And see what is does. So they pushed the green button And heard a loud buzz, A whirring and beeping, A blue flashing light, It really did give them A most awful fright. Its exploding screamed Vera From under the chair, It will blow us to Heavens And Goodness knows where. Quick, over here, Before it goes boom And makes an enormous Great mess of this room. |

The only thing left That will make it go well, We will just have to cast A quick learning spell. So they huddled together And danced on their knees, Till the dust rose around them And made them all sneeze. Then they sang and they chanted Till it got really spooky, Brickety-Brackety Gobbledy-Gooky |

A short while later They were ready to go, To type out a spell, That would make them all know How to use this machine Just to type out a spell, Would it work ? Would it happen? They never could tell. Vera then started to type in a letter, The words were appearing, That really was better. It wasnt a long while Until she was done, Well now said Vera, That really was fun. |
