43" Aeromarine Challenger
"SOLD"
This Boat was my second Vee Hull and I was looing for Speed thats why I picked a 43" Hull. The Boat was powered by an older style BH Hanson Pro Race Motor. As you can see I custum made the hardware, I liked the J&G Style hardware but didnt like the distance it put the prop behind the boat. I've been told the Optimum distance is around 5" from transom to prop and the J&G only put it at around 3" so that was unacceptable. Other hardware included Aeromarine Cowl Locks, Aeromarine Auto Bailer, Aeromarine Strut and rudder, Hitec 615MG servo for the sterring, Standard Futaba servo for the Throttle, and custom made servo mounts you can see in the below pictures. The speed and handling of this boat was pretty impressive if the water condotions where right. As you know a 43" boat isnt going to due well in rough water so if your looking for a wave jumper you can forget about this boat. As for speed I was consistently running 46-48 mph on a good pass with a Prather 280 prop. I got a chance too try out an Octura 767/3 blade prop and was extremly shocked at the performance difference, the accellaration and top speed was much better but I didnt get a chance to get it under radar before flipping her and getting the throttle servo wet. I will say that my friend with the same type of setup was running 43mph tops and put that prop on and gained 5mph on the radar gun!!! so I estimate my boat with the 767 prop to run in the low 50's. The pictures of this boat where taken before I added a turn fin (a MUST!!) and some trim tabs not to mention full polishing the hardware.
