Obituary
Well-know Euston, Station-Master MR. J HARRISON From 1925 to 1931 he was Stationmaster at Carnforth and was highly respected as a kindly, courteous efficient stationmaster. From Carnforth he went to Southport and then to Birmingham (New St.) and finally in 1937 on to Euston, where many times he had to attend upon the Royal Family. Mr. Harrison was a native of Bootle (Cumberland) and commenced his career at Haverthwaite on the old Furness Railway General Offices Barrow. A prominent Freemason, he was a foundation member and past Worshipful Master of Carnforth Lodge, and took a large part in all the benevolent institutions of the Order. He is survived by his wife - also a native of Bootle - and two daughters one of whom recently sailed for the U.S.A. as the wife of an American major. THE INQUEST
A verdict of "Accidental death” was returned at the inquest at Wealdstone yesterday It was stated. that an extremely , rapid form of blood poisoning was set up by a knock on Mr.Harrison’s right elbow. Dr. Donald Teare pathologist said the injury to the elbow had resulted in the admission of an organism of a very virulent character.
