WitchCraft - Weave 3


The following is the outline of study for First Degree, Weave 3. At the end of this Weave, an online test is available to those who would like to have their learning formally acknowledged. Students who pass this test are entitled to call themselves Akashan Witch, Third Weave.

Students who are interested in sitting the Weave 3 test should contact the Temple for the password required to locate the test online. The test is available to student worldwise - you do not need to be a Melbourne resident in order to sit the Weave tests.

Topic 21: Ethics of Akashan WitchCraft

Consider the following questions for discussion:
What is the Wiccan Rede? Is it valid in Akashan WitchCraft?
What is the Wiccan Threefold Law? Is it valid in Akashan WitchCraft?
What is Ahimsa? Is it effective? Is it practical?
What does it mean to be part of a community? What responsibilities are there?
What responsibilities do Akashan Witches have to others and the environment?
Should non-human animals be protected? In what ways?

Topic 22: Ethics of Akashan WitchCraft - continued

Consider the following questions for discussion:
Are all humans worthy of equal rights? Why or why not?
Can we own the land, or are we stewards? What responsibilities do ownership / stewardship of the land entail?
Should Akashan Witches always obey the law?
When (if at all) might it be appropriate for an Akashan Witch to disobey the law?
How might an Akashan Witch determine the justness of a law? How should an Akashan Witch deal with an unjust law?



Topic 23: The Witches' Pyramid

Consider the following topics for discussion:
What is the Witches' Pyramid? Does it make sense to you?
To Know = air (mental). What should an Akashan Witch know? What is the value of knowledge?
To Will = fire (motivation, spiritual energy). How does our will affect our reality?
To Dare = water (vulnerability, taking emotional risks). How can what we dare change our existence?
To Keep Silent = earth (silence and strength). What is the importance of being able to keep silent?



Topic 24: Tools: The Wand and the Blade

Study the following aspects of these tools:
What it is used for. When to use a Wand as opposed to a Blade.
How to make them / where to purchase them.
What Elements they correspond to.
How to use them.
Where to place them on an altar.



Topic 25: Tools: The Chalice and the Cauldron

Study the following aspects of these tools:
What are they used for.
Where to purchase them.
What Element(s) they correspond to.
How to use them.
Where to place them on an altar/ in a Circle.



Topic 26: Tools: The Pentacle and the Censer

Study the following aspects of these tools:
What they are used for.
How to make them / where to purchase them.
What Elements they correspond to.
How to use them.
Where to place them on an altar.



Topic 27: Earth Magic

Consider the following topics for discussion:
Why is recycling important?
In what ways can we reduce our ecological footprint?
What are Devas?
Where is Findhorn? Discuss this unique community.
Why should we try to buy organic, unprocessed food? What difference does it make?
Reading: Learn about the properties and correspondences of the thirteen sacred trees.

Topic 28: Meditation - Theory and Practical

Theory Topics:
What is meditation, and how can it be helpful?
What is guided meditation? Write your own guided meditation.
What tools can be used for meditation (e.g. a candle)?



Topic 29: Correspondences

Consider the following topics for discussion:
What are the correspondences for each day of the week? Discuss each day in turn.
How can different colours affect magick, ritual, and ritual psychology?
What plants / spices / gums are associated with which Elements? Give 4 examples, one for each Element.
Name crystals or gems that are associated with each Element. Name 3 for each Element.
What animals are associated with each of the different Elements? Name 3 for each Element.



Topic 30: Revision and Preparation


Use this session to revise all aspects of Akashan WitchCraft Weaves 1, 2 and 3 in preparation for examination and Initiation.



Weave 3: Theory Examination

Once you have revised all the material contained in the last ten weeks of this course, email the Temple and we will arrange for you to sit a short online examination, which will enable you to claim the title of Akashan Witch, Third Weave. This examination will last no longer than 15 minutes. You may sit this examination as many times as you need, but there must be a gap of at least one week between attempts.

Having passed this examination, you can begin Weave 4 of Akashan WitchCraft.

Should you choose not to sit this examination, you may continue your study with Akasha, but may not claim the Third Weave title.

If you are interested in sitting for a formal Degree in Akashan WitchCraft, which involves a practical face-to-face examination with a Temple Representative, email the Temple and this possibility can be discussed.
