"oh, there's a hunger now"

april 14th

My "manual of low cost country self sufficiency" has arrived.Everything advertised looks too expensive. Threw it in the trash.

Couldn't get out of reclining position to write yesterday.Snowing again. Can't go to yard. But I'm quite aware of being at the 90 day mark.

Chuck Green's column this morning practically sets the date for the indictment, late next week. (I think of the lounges I wrote to and snicker like a hyena).

The guards over in the next module (GPOP) have borrowed my copy of "Perfect". Oh, there's a hunger now.

All deputies have been told they WILL be on duty for Y2K day. Let's see if a sign up list magically appears along with the circus du media for Ramsey Day. I'm hearing that network camera crews are popping up all over town. Also, it seems, parts of "Perfect" are in the Sheriff's Dept. computer system.

"What DOES one wear to an indictment?"

I'm still not feeling right. A healing sort of thick noncaring exhaustion has come down. But rest assured I have one eye open for this cheap silly Ramsey indictment crap.

Something secret is happening, okay? The code for my memory is "nosecuffsteerwheel".

P.S. at the swingshift briefing this afternoon (April 14th) the Ramsey situation was discussed. There was discussion on the subject of the cancelling of ALL vacations and of going on an on call situation. (Neither is in effect at this time). There were jokes about cleaning up the women's pod, and there was discussion on the subject of Patsy avoiding extradition (personally I'd way rather be in this jail than in ATLANTA). But these were things discussed at today's briefing...along with commentary on Chuck Green's column.
