Bangladesh is a small country in Southern Asia, bordering the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and India. It's full name is People's Republic of Bangladesh. The capital town is called Dhaka. The other main towns are called Barisal, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi and Sylhet.

The languages spoken in Bangladesh are Bangla and English.

The main religions in Bangladesh are ISLAM , HINDUISM, BUDDHISM and CHRISTIANITY.

This is the Flag of Bangladesh. It's green with a large red disk slightly to one side. The red circle represents the sun and the green the lush countryside.
bdesh_teaplants.jpg Bangladesh is well known for growing RICE, TEA, TOBACCO, SUGAR CANE & PULSES.

This is a picture of a tea plantation. Women are picking the tealeaves from the tea plants.

Bangladeshi people also grow fruits like Banana, Mango, Pineapple, Paw-Paw, Star fruit, Gauva and Coconuts. Many houses will have some of these trees in their garden.

Although Bangladesh is a country that does a lot of farming it is also well known for fishing. Just as England is well known for Fish & Chips so is Bangladesh well known for Rice and Fish.
