  A high school student, named Tenchi Masaki, is shown walking. A mysterious voice is heard talking about the never ending carnival they used to have. Tenchi, thinking to himself, says he remembers those days he thought would never end, saying "It all started when....". Hovering in space, above Earth, was a battle going on between two forces. A ship was hit and it went down to Earth. Tenchi was walking home and he saw something crash down nearby. He went to go check it out. He finds a beautiful girl lying there, unconsious. He revived he by giving her some water. Soon she told him that her name was Ryoko and that she was being chased by space pirates. Before she could finish telling her story, an armored creature (a space pirate) hovered above them. It fired a shot and off they went. Meanwhile, at the Masaki Shrine, Tenchi's dad is seen climbing a large set of stairs. He hears explosions far off and he looks to see what's going on and sees explosions scattering throughout the forest. He wanders what's going on... Tenchi and Ryoko come to a cliff and have nowhere to go. As the space pirate approaches, Ryoko says they made a promise to die together. Tenchi looks at her like she's crazy an screams, "I'm too young to die!". The space pirate gets near and it slips on an object on the ground and falls. It's unable to get up and, Tenchi and Ryoko are able to get away. But for good measure, Ryoko kicks it off the cliff and they go back to Tenchi's house. Back at Tenchi's house, his father and grandfather are worried where he is. (They joke that he might be picking up girls). Then, bursting through the door are Ryoko and Tenchi (who is huffing and puffing). Tenchi's dad comes to yell at Tenchi for being late, and then he saw Ryoko and his eyes lit up. He made a joke about them aloping and Ryoko said, "How did you know?", and Tenchi screams at the top of his lungs that they weren't married. They all sit down and Ryoko tells them her story that she from outer space and is being chased by space pirates. Tenchi doesn't believe a word she said, yet his father and grandfather believe her. Then, while Ryoko is speaking, she calls Tenchi's father, "father", and they get very excited and start calling each other father and daughter. (Meanwhile, Tenchi is freaking out about what he is seeing.) Later that night, Tenchi is hammering the door tight to try and avoid the space pirate. Then, grandfather says he is going to the Masaki Shrine and will be back in a while. So, Tenchi and Ryoko go back inside and go to his room. Tenchi is studying and Ryoko is playing his video game system. Tenchi hears the doorbell and goes to answer the door. The person at the door is none other than the space pirate! Tenchi gets Ryoko and there off on the chase through the house. The space pirate corners them at the end of the hall, leaving Ryoko and Tenchi no other choice but to jump out the window. They take the leap through and run to the Masaki Shrine. Grandfather is waiting there and wonders what is going on. Then, he sees the space pirate, takes out his sword, and in one slice, the space pirate split open. Then, a galactic police officer was inside and begins crying. This turns out to be the next big character introduced. Her name is Mioshi. Then, she explains who Ryoko really is. It turns out that Ryoko is the space pirate! So Mioshi starts firing a gun at Ryoko, who raised up a shield around her, who just laughs. So she is about to attack when Tenchi grabs a stick looking thing and impresses Ryoko so much that she "claims" she was just kidding. They go back to Tenchi's house. The next day, Ryoko continues to flirt with Tenchi and Mioshi takes out a cube looking device. Turns out that if you mess with it just right, it sends out a distress signal. So Mioshi wants to go home real bad and sends out the distress signal. Deep in space, a ship is shown. Inside, a beautiful princess, named Ayeka, (pronounced: eye-a-k-uh), and two wooden block figures hear the distress signal. Ayeka doesn't want to go and answer the distress signal, but feels it is her duty as princess to answer it. So, they fly to Earth. The ship lands on Earth on a lake. Tenchi is the first one to see it and runs off to see what it is. The others quickly follow. Mioshi is so happy, that she can't contain herself. A little bubble thing comes out the ship and lands to reveal Ayeka. Then, Ryoko screams, "YOU!!!" and so does Ayeka. I wont spoil the rest!
