Yes...we Canadians have our own football league. The CFL (Canadian Football League). There are a few rule differences, but in general things are pretty much the same. You throw, kick and catch a football and score more points in order to beat your opponent.

Our league is much smaller than the NFL, and the teams play for rights to win the Grey Cup at the year's end.



The Grey Cup

From 1993-1995 there were 7 American teams with CFL franchises. The CFL never caught on in the U.S. as was envisioned. Click here to view a tribute to the teams that were once part of the CFL.

Also, in 1997 the Ottawa Rough Riders offically folded, and left the CFL after more than a hundred year presence. Visit this link to find out the status on Ottawa once again receving a team.
