Labrinth

The heart is like a labyrinth,
from which there is no relief.
Some feelings seem like myth,
and love is brought from false belief.

Each turn leads to tribulation,
and each twist to fallen hope.
It brings about much adjutation,
as I reach to grasp your rope.

Obstacles are strewn about my path,
each more hazardous than the last.
I've held my anger and kept my wrath,
and put my failures into the past.

I often wonder what awaits me,
if it is worth it for me to believe.
If our love will ever be,
or if you'll find another and leave.

Every maze becomes one more,
and there is no end in sight.
We could be together like no others before,
and together we combine our strength and end the endless fight.

Your wings of gold are my escape,
and take me to the sky above.
You've bridged the pit which once did gape,
and hand in hand we fly on to love.
