Moonlight Mist

At the eve of every day moonbeams fill the darkened valleys with a shower,
filling its desolate surroundings with the light of the evening.
And to all is revealed their unending glory and unlimited power,
as they fill the mist of the seas with one true gleaming.

The moonlight mist is said to bring two together,
and bonds them forever in eternal love.
It may bring kindred souls the gift of a feather,
as the symbol of peace brought down by the dove.

Through skies of purple majesty it continues its descent,
as winds of truth guide it until the end of time.
I wish for it only to show our feelings since the day we met,
in its simplicity it gives meaning without reason or rhyme.

Some say the mist is nothing more than a managarie,
dreamed up by young fools whose senses are dull.
But to me you are so much more than a fantasy,
you have touched my heart and made it once more full.

And many waves will crash upon the endless beaches of life,
to cover the footprints of the past and true loves once lost.
And with this only thought I put away years of strife,
the flame of my love melts away the thickened frost.

All things in my life are aligned towards you,
as I find myself captivated in thee.
I often look back to the point where I had to choose,
and found comfort in you whilst you in turn did me.

So let the moonlight mist your soul carry,
and it may at last find its true companion.
We shall no longer be alone or forced to tarry,
for those who are lifted up by love give freely compassion.

Always look beyond the surface of the mist,
to find what's inside those who may lonely seek your hand.
And remember this as you feel my tender kiss,
that for you I'd be carried across a thousand lands.
