Freeze, the general of the army of fire and ice, attacks Papunika. Fly, Poppu, Fuam and Badaku use a firework to signal their presence to princess Leona. A balloon arrives with in it EIMI a sage of Papunika. She takes Fly & co to the isle of Baruji where the princess is hiding. The isle is isolated by a whirlpool.
But Freeze is faster and he takes the tower of Baruji under assault. APPOLO and MARINE defend the princess but in vain. Freeze is too strong. He can for example invoke five Merazoma's at a time. At the most critical moment, Fly appears and saves Leona from the death. Freeze is furious. He tries to congelate Fly with MAHIADO, but Fly can protect himself with his magic sword.
Freeze exploses and all the rocks his body is made of hurt our friends. But this technique also alerts his soldiers to construct two towers: HYOMATO (fire tower) and ENMATO (ice tower). The towers permit him to build up a restriction area within which only Freeze can invoke magic and the power of our friends is reduced to a fifth of their original strength.
This time Fly gets mad because Freeze is a coward, not willing to fight loyally. But he can't do anything within the restriction area. Fuam decides to flee and go back later to fight Freeze. Freeze hears this and congelates the princess with a forbidden spell. Nothing can destroy this icy prison. The only way to deliver the princess is to kill Freeze. Fly gets really angry and manages to cut off Freeze's arm. But Freeze is able to reconstruct his body.
Fuam and Poppu are taking the wounded people in the balloon. Fuam stuns Fly and takes him aboard the balloon. But Freeze sends his army of fire to burn the balloon. They nearly fall into the whirlpool, when a strange light saves them by annihilating all their enemies. They manage to get on the strand.
They notice a cavern and inspect it. They meet an old man eating some roasted fish. It seems to be Fuam's uncle MATORIF. He fought with Aban against Hadora. They ask Matorif to help them in their fight against Ban's armies. He refuses despite their insistence. He tells them he's deceived by the humans because they repudiated him. But then Fly recovers and replies by saying that he may not generalize. Matorif is impressed by Fly and rcognizes Aban's regard in that of Fly. He finally accepts to help them.
He elaborates following plan: they have to attack the towers from outside of the restriction area with explosives. Badaku immediately volunteers to be the constructor of the bombs. Poppu says he can destroy the towers with his incantations. Matorif observes him and asks Fuam who he is. He wants to form Poppu because he's not strong enough, he never saw a weaker magician.
The next day Poppu's hard training begins. Matorif learns him a new spell: RURA which permits to be instantaneously transported to the place the user has in mind. Fly is also training with Fuam.
But Freeze is getting impatient, he reminds our friends that the princess is enclosed in a prison of ice and that she will not survive more than two days. Matorif decides they have to leave at night. He will get them to the isle with a barque he uses to fish. With his magic force he will make the boat float above the whirlpool. But only four persons can go in the barque. Fly, Fuam and Badaku decide to go. But they can't agree about the fourth person till Poppu arrives and asks to be the fourth.
Finally they take place in the barque (a fifth passenger goes with them, but as gome doesn't weigh much!!!). Good luck disciples of Aban!!!
