Leona, Poppu and Krokodin hide Fly in a dungeon of the castle of Teran. Suddenly Poppu acts very strangely, he says they have no chance against Baran and tells he will stop the battle. Leona, Krokodin and Meruru are very disappointed by Poppu's reaction.
In fact Poppu lied to them, because he knew they wouldn't have let him fight the dragon knight alone. So he made them beleave he was fleeing again.
Poppu stops Baran and his dragon warriors, but they are too strong for him. He nevertheless manages to beat their dragons. But it makes Garudendei furious. Fortunately, Hyunkel arrives in time to stop Garudendei. He defeats Garudendei and Borahon. But Rafaruto seems to be a better warrior, moreover he disposes of an armor like that of Hyunkel: it counters every incantation. It has been forged by Ron Berku, like Hyunkel's armor. But Rafaruto is much faster with his spear than Hyunkel is with his sword. Before Rafaruto finishes Hyunkel, he explains him why Baran hates the humans. The story of Baran, the dragon knight, follows now:
A dragon knight has been created to keep the equilibrium between the tree races: humans, monsters and dragons. When a dragon knight dies after a battle, "mother dragon" takes the dragon sign with her and gives birth to a new dragon knight somewhere on earth. The knight is grown up by the local people and when he becomes an adult he becomes aware of his mission. So a dragon knight has no parents, no children. But an incident took place!
Fifteen years ago Hadora tried to conquer the world with his army of monsters. But the dragon knight didn't appear to stop him. In fact Hadora was beaten by Aban. But while Hadora was terrorizing the people on earth, a much greater threat came from the underworld. Veruza the last intelligent dragon was trying to take over the world too. But Baran could stop him after a bloody battle. He tried to get to a source known for it's healing potential, especially for dragon knights. But he was too exhausted by the battle. Then a girl gave him water from the source and saved his life. They instantly fell in love. The girl,SOARA soon revealed to be the princess of the country of Arukido, and Baran was invited to the court. But the counsellors of the king didn't want this stranger to get on the trone and one of them advised the king not to mary his daughter with Baran, because he could be a spy of Hadora. The king immediately rejected Baran.
But Baran learned from Soara that she was pregnant. They decided to retire in the forest of Teran and to grow up their son DINO. But the king soon found them back. Baran decided to surrender, because he didn't want to kill humans. Dino was deported to an other country by ship, and Baran was going to be executed. But before the flames of the incantations of his executioners reach him, Soara interposed herself and got the entire attack on her. Before she died she asked Baran to forgive the humans because they are only frightened and she wanted him to retrieve Dino and live with him in piece. Baran got furious and simply blasted the whole country of Arukido. He regreted he saved the humans from Veruza. It's on that moment that Ban appeared and asked him to destroy the humans with him.
After the story of Rafaruto, Hyunkel stands up and wants to help Baran and Fly. He says he understands the pain Baran feels because he feeled the same hate against humans before he met Fly. Rafaruto says that he won't be able to heel the deep wound Baran has got by a "good speech". They start to fight again, but Hyunkel has anticipated Rafaruto's technique and beats him with Grand Cross. But Borahon seems to be still alive and he wants to kill Hyunkel. Moreover he took Poppu as a hostage. Hyunkel abandons and when Borahon prepares himself to give Hyunkel the final strike, he gets Rafaruto's spear in his head.
Rafaruto saved them because taking a hostage betrays the noble spirit of the dragon warriors. Hyunkel asks him why he hates the humans so much. Rafaruto tells him he's a metis of human and monster. His father a monster, died when he was a child. When he was seven, the war between Hadora and the humans started. The humans persecuted his mother because he's a monster. She died from a disease, only Baran understood Rafaruto's pain. Hyunkel promises to help Baran and Fly. Rafaruto gives his armor to Hyunkel.
Meanwhile, Baran arrived at the castle and tries to get Fly, but Leona and Krokodin are there to stop him. Krokodin tries to draw out Baran's power by resisting to all his Giga Brakes. Hyunkel and Poppu arrive in time to save Leona and Krokodin. Hyunkel tells Baran, he's wrong: not all humans are bad, and Baran should know it because the woman he loved was human. But unable to understand the absurd contradiction in the human, Baran tried to exterminate the humans. On this words Baran becomes very quiet ...
