TO PIQUE YOUR INTEREST MAYBE I'M KEEPIN' IT SIMPLE
You will see where I'm going with all this. Sometimes the truth can be found where you least expect it. We're comfortable with our religions, aren't we? Remember, churchianity is not Christianity. I only discovered this once I made up my mind to begin the search for truth, truth and nothing but. As you can imagine, I get a lot of flack from mainstream Christians. But that's to be expected. There has been a lot of errors creeping into mainstream christianity for a lot of years. So slowly and sinisterly that even professing Christians haven't noticed. We expect our churches to do our studying for us and then give us all the answers. A real recipe for apostasy in the church. But you don't have to believe me. I've only just begun my study. If you are sincere in your search for the truth, forget about following blindly. That, dear brother/sister, is not even blind faith, it's blind stupidity.

Jesus spoke, many times in parables. But one thing you notice about those parables, they were quite simple and easy to understand.
2 Tim. 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

Sorry, but they didn't have the new testament to go by when that one was written. Could it be that they were talking about the old testament? After all, Jesus taught in the synogogues, the law and the prophets from the old testament. Hmm, he also celebrated all of the Jewish feast days and passover, too. Are we or are we not commanded to become more like Christ?

THE OLD COVENANT
In the book of The Acts, Peter was called to visit Cornelius. Cornelius is identified as a righteous centurion. I find it very interesting that Peter's response after his vision of the sheet with all manner of four-footed beasts, "Not so, Lord, for I have never EATEN anything that is common or unclean." God was trying to get him to understand that the gospel was for everyone now, and not just for the Jews. But here was Peter, still abiding by the Mosaic laws on not eating unclean animals. Unclean meats having nothing to do with Peter's perception of unclean gentiles. Here was God speaking to Peter in the parable (as Jesus so often did). This scene didn't mean what Peter thought it meant at all. It just meant that Peter needed to get the lead out and go visit Cornelius because that gentile and his family deserved to hear the gospel, since God is no respecter of persons.

How did this all get twisted up to mean that now we can eat all of the unclean animals that God plainly said for us not to eat? Fact is, man's doctrines took over.

I don't agree with everything here, but they are studied and learned. You've gotta love that.
