Dark Mind

There is a place which we all go, not by our own free will,
We are pushed by others to find this lonely stretch of the damned.
It tends to be so far away, bitter, cold and dank,

So why do we allow ourselves to find this awful land?

Some say its land is ringed by fire, others claim it to be of ice.

Which ever the mind sees this place as, the

Results are still the same, barren land, vast and deep, no

Beauty here can thrive, no solace of the mind.

It's surrounded by the eerie sounds that make beasts fear

To tread, horrid sounds of ghost like voices in sorrowful

Cries abound.
Shriek if you want it matters not, for your

Cries will only blend, then echo back to be heard by only

What lies pitifully in your head.

Self doubt, no worth and pity are the keepers of this place,
Once you start to make the journey to this place of gloom,
Very seldom can you stop to turn away from there.
Try as
You may, fight to be free, self doubt will concur thee.
You can hear the cries of others, telling you not to go, yelling

To you so loudly that you know your head will explode.
Yet your
Steps keep leading you deeper, your mind says you have no
Worth, and your purpose in life is to answer this call.

Self doubt has you wrapped up firmly in its ugly embrace, no
Worth keeps pounding its images across the eyes of your
Mind.
Then pity wriggles its way inside and hammers its

Song of whoa, alas you hang your head to the ground and

Defeat is all you know.

Pity not the fool that bows before these 3, for pity is the keeper

Of No Worth and Self Doubt you see.
Talk not to the mind of

The defeated for it has closed its ears.
Talk to the heart that lies

With in, for here is where the minds wisdom begins.
Start with just a whisper for it will ask you what you said,

Then whisper once again, so the heart will lift the head.

Tease the heart just a little, make it slowly come to life,

Fill the heart with love, so the heart will feel the need to fight.

Gently take the hands that shake, let them feel the warmth

Of care. Soon enough you will see, pity , no worth, and

Self doubt drain in the form of a single tear.
