Yvette's Beaded Projects

This site is under construction......Please do not push......How's my driving?....

****I know some of these projects were created from designs found on the web, but I don't remember the site locations to give the proper reference. If you recognize a pattern, and know who created it, please send me an e-mail so I can give the proper credit. Thank You. --Lisa (Yvette)

CELTIC BOOKMARK

I really hope that you can make out the celtic pattern in this bookmark. The scanning didn't work well for this piece. This was one of my first loomed pieces and is done with translucent beads. The bead colors are clear, red, green, and blue. The tassel is done in round peyote stich (my very first attempt) with the same color beads.

I haven't completely finished the ends of the piece, but it's still beautiful.

MACLAREN PLAID BOOKMARK

The scanned picture really doesn't do this project justice. You can see the yellows, blues, reds and blacks, but you can't see the greens that make the piece Maclaren. Joe (my boyfriend) and I designed the pattern from the a picture of Maclaren plaid. The tassel on top is tubular peyote stich attached with 4 rows of single strand beads. Both the tassel and the bottom of the piece are fringed with single strand beads in the Maclaren pattern.

CELTIC KNOT AMULET BAG

This amulet bag is made with the peyote stich in pearl, gold and brown colored seed beads. The back of the bag is only pearl seed beeds. The handle is two rows of single strand gold and brown beads with pearl loops.
CRYSTAL AMULET BAG

This "crystal" bag was made for my daughter, Monica. The bag itself is about 2"long (without the fringe). The fringe is tipped with Snowflake Obsydian beads. Before this project, I had never done open work, I really like the look. Since this project is done in all clear glass beads, scanning was really difficult and is not very clear. This project was started and completed during the month of April, 1999.

POWERLINES

"Powerlines" is a project that I did for my Grandma. I created the pattern from an indian design and started the project in May of 1998 and finally completed it in April 1999. The project itself didn't take me that long, I just wasn't able to work on it very often. This piece is done in beige and brown delica beads. It is mounted on a piece of brown leather. The approx. piece size is 4"x4" (give or take).
GECKO AMULET BAG

This mini-amulet bag was made from a pattern found at Bead Maiden's site on Geocities. It is hard to tell, but that really is a quarter beside the bag. I used translucent lite blue seed beeds and the gecko is done in pink opal and cream. I made this bag for my sister. It replaces another (almost identical) bag, which was lost. The original bag took 5 days to create. This bag took a little longer (I think it was just one of those creative things - trying to recreate something from memory - I forgot to scan the original *duh*). I hope Sherri likes it. :)
