Niagara Falls, Canada
After missing our flight out of Miami by like a minute or two, we finally arrived in
Toronto and caught the shuttle into Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. The ride took
about an hour or so, but wasn't that bad. We got to see some of
Canada along the way. It was pretty well populated the whole
way with very little open country.
We arrived at our hotel, which was located just off the main party street called
"Chapel Hill". There was a lot to do just right out the hotel, to bad it was off
season and most of it was closed. There were a couple of things open and we also took a
walk down to the Falls. They're just a couple of blocks away. There was a casino within
the same distance, so we were really happy. We had good weather the first two days and got
to see all this, plus take a ride on a little tour bus and see the whole gorge area and go
to a "butterfly World". Then on the third day, we woke up to about 10" of
snow. It was real pretty as we looked out of our hotel window. Then we got out in it, it's
not that much fun then.
We took a taxi to the IMax Theatre and saw a show on the Falls and then we walked
through this huge snow covered parking lot to the space needle, which turned out to mostly
closed.
We took another taxi to another tower that
overlooked the Falls and had dinner at the top, It was pretty neat, we stayed long enough
to see them turn the lights on on the Falls. Then another taxi back to the hotel. We had
another 6" of snow that night and we were a little worried about the shuttles ride
back to the airport in Toronto. The roads turned out to be okay and we made our connection
home
