TITANIC NEWS
Two Titanic brewery beers will available at the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia, London in August, namely Titanic Lifeboat (4% abv) Shugborough Red Cap (4.3%), says brewer Ian "Brad" Bradford
Also for August, Titanic's monthly beer is Shugborough "Tower of the Winds", named after a neo-classical monument in Shugborough Park which was built by the 2nd Earl of Lichfield. At 4.2%, it is a straw coloured beer, described as being a light and hoppy thirst quencher with a long dry finish!
RECORD WEEK
At the end of June, Titanic announced that they had a record production week with both sales and production from their Burslem plant breaking previous records! With the national trend in cask beer sales being down on last year, it only goes to prove that at the quality end of the market there is still a great demand for Real Ale.
AVAILABLITY
Titanic beers are becoming more readily available in Staffordshire due to the Hogshead establishments in Hanley, Newcastle and Stafford having Premium as a regular beer and stocking the seasonal range when they are available. They are also being sensibly priced by Hogshead, which can't be bad! Titanic beers have been available at the Stoke CAMRA Beer festival since 1985, and in September they will be available once again.
Titanic boss, Keith Bott, has finally proved what a softy he really is. On Holiday in Wales he chose a romantic waterfall setting to propose to Donna Braithwaite. Donna was taker completely by surprise as she had no idea that Keith was planning such a merger. Fortunately for Keith, Donna accepted his terms, and the wedding is planned for early 2001. On behalf of everyone at CAMRA, Potters Bar wishes them every happiness.
