The Hyena Page

The hyenas get a bad rap. The are amazing animals, not only for their scavenging abilities, but interestingly their encompassing social structure in the wild and their masterful hunting qualities. As was pointed out numerous times by our guides, the perception of the hyena is not the reality.

The warthog was a fascinating animal to look at. With razor sharp tusks, and a head attached to a body with what seemed like no neck, they are very peculiar. Above you see an abnormality, most adult warthogs go down on their front knees when grazing, as they really do not have much of a neck, and need to get that mouth down to the low grasses.

A final shot of some zebra. Notice the grouping here. It is a classic diamond formation that zebra form for defensive measures. Males on the outside, with females next and the youngsters in the middle.
