There are
so many good reasons to give up smoking.
-
Health Reasons. Literally
hundreds of different diseases which are either directly caused by
smoking, or where smoking is a significant risk factor have been
identified. Cancer, emphysema and heart disease are only the tip of
the iceberg. The real questions you need to ask are: How much do you
enjoy life? Do you want your life to end prematurely? Also ask
yourself what quality of life would you like for your remaining
time? Wheezing in a oxygen tent slowly drowning in your own fluids
isn't much fun.
-
Appearance.
Smoking thins your skin and thus makes you look far older
than your true years. It can also cause other unpleasant symptoms
like bad breath, weight gain, stained teeth, foul body odour and
yellow fingers. As appearance is important to every area where others
make an opinion about you, whether romantically, socially or in the
work place, can you afford to make yourself more unattractive in this way?
-
Financial
Reasons. The average smoker in the UK buying cigarettes at UK
prices spends approximately £2000 a year on their habit. Can you
think of something you would rather spend that money on? If you are
one of those people who then says "yes but I get them duty
free.... etc." think how sad it is to spend any
money at all on such a destructive habit.
Family
and Friends. Unfortunately if you smoke, that smoke effects
those around you too. Do you want to inflict the health and
appearance symptoms listed above on your friends and family? How
about on your children? Recent research has shown that even in the
homes of parents who smoke outside the house levels of nicotine
inside are many times higher than in the homes of non smokers. Did
you know that cats and dogs are now commonly being diagnosed with
lung cancer as a result of passive smoking?
So ask
yourself the question.
"If
I continue to smoke what is it going to cost me in terms of
health, finances, work, relationships, appearance and enjoyment
of life over the next month, year, five years, ten years" (if
you live that long!)
If you
don't like the answer then
its time to give up!
NLP and
Hypnosis provide effective techniques to address the smoking problem.
The Stop
Smoking Course consists of two sessions.
-
Session
1 Consists of taking an in depth case history and looking at
the mental and behavioral linkages to your habit. It also involves
teaching you self hypnosis and giving you homework to do before....
-
Session
2 This is where the therapy takes place. Based on your case
history, tailor made NLP and Hypnosis interventions will be used to
tip the scales towards successfully becoming a non smoker.....
-
Top
up Sessions Some people feel they benefit from top up
sessions several months after the initial consultations. This can be
to reenforce certain points or to address new issues which have
become apparent.
-
The
Final Solution Occasionally with particularly stubborn
cases (this is rare!) who have relapsed despite the above,
Hypno-aversion therapy can be used. This is only available if you
have been through the normal stop smoking protocol and it may not be
suitable for everybody. It is not the nicest process to go through
but can be extremely effective as a last measure!
