This was the scene awaiting us when we finally got to the town center after winding our way down the road with the rest of the crowd: Thousands of Spanish men, shirtless and otherwise. After a while, when the crowd got impatient waiting for the tomatoes to arrive, T-shirts were taken off heads and sent aloft, to substitute for fruits. They hurt.
