Castle Coombe is one of the fastest circuits in the country with the outright lap record of some 130.93 mph set in 1997 by the 1994 F1 Tyrrell Yamaha 022 of Nigel Greensall during the vist by the BOSS series. The Formula Ford 1600 record was also broken last year, during the Formula Ford Festival. The new record of 103.04 mph was set by the winner of the festival Gavin Wills in a Swift SC92F.
