A Tribute to a Legend . . .
![]()
It is only so often that such talent makes its way into the limelight, and it is all too tragic when such talent is taken away. Owen Hart, the youngest of the twelve Hart children, was a top contender for the WWF intercontinental title when he tragically fell to his death. It was on May 23, 1999, in front of a live PPV audience at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, that the world lost Owen. The superhero proved to be, sadly, all too human.
Owen Hart should be remembered for his life rather than his death. He was a son, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a husband, a father, and a friend before he was a performer. He is not a newspaper headline or a Dateline crusade. I am erecting this tribute in hopes that fans everywhere will be able to celebrate just a small piece of his life. That, and to inform his grief-stricken family and friends how much we all care.
What I have compiled below is only a small sample of what I hope to have in the future. I want fans everywhere to celebrate the life of Owen Hart, and to remember the happiness he had unselfishly given to his fans. Goodbye, Owen. We miss you and pray for your family. You and Brian take care of each other.J
Also, I hope everyone will join in writing to the World Wrestling Federation and ask that Owen be awarded the WWF title posthumously. If anyone deserves such an honor, after over ten years of service and loyalty, it is truly Owen Hart. Take a couple of minutes and write to the WWF. Let them know. This is, after all he has done for his fans and for the World Wrestling Federation, the very least that they can give him in return. Fans can e-mail their condolences to the Hart Family at this address. To send cards an contributions, the address is: The Hart Family, 435 Patina Place SW, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T3H 2P5
