Thirsting for adventure? Want to spread your wings and see the world? Here's your opportunity! This year, the Malaysian Bikers Society will team up with the Pacifica Cycle Touring Club of Europe, which is leading a tour of Wales and Ireland from September 7 -28. Interested? Let's soar and ride into the wind!.

Here is a taste of the trip:

North Wales

We’ll ride the hillier sections of north Wales and southern Ireland. We’ll spend the first few days riding in the remote and mountainous part of north Wales; each day will include a mountain pass, at least one castle, and an occasional Druid stone circle.

The Peninsulas of South Western Ireland

We’ll ferry across the Irish Sea to Dublin and take a train to Cork. On the way to the western coast we’ll capture Blarney Castle (in photo, of course). The southwest coast of Ireland has a temperate climate and is known for its magnificent gardens and manor houses. The coast is made up of many peninsulas, each with a high range of hills as a spine. We’ll ride around several of the peninsulas including the famous Ring of Kerry and do several mountain passes. In much of Ireland, the mountains are treeless, which gives the cyclist a wonderful opportunity to drink in vistas of heather- and bracken-covered hills and the distant islands, bays and lakes. Along the way we’ll visit Killarney, the tourist center of Ireland. After riding the peninsulas we’ll take a train to Limerick.

The Aran Islands and Connemara

Irish raw wool sweaters with distinctive knitted patterns were a tradition started in the Aran Islands. The wives and mothers would knit a unique "family design" into the sweater so that their menfolk could be identified when washed up on shore after a bad storm. The awesome melancholy beauty of Aran is carried over into the plains and hills of Connemara. The emptiness of Connemara continues to this day with the ruins of abandoned cottages, barns, and even small villages that we’ll see every few miles.
