The mens first team wins their second practice match. Was it
last week Kampong who lost from our boys, this week it was Venlo who lost with 6-1.
Former Dutch International player Bastiaan Poortenaar said that although these wins are nice the real job has to be done in the competition. This
competition was paused because of the Champions Trophy in Lahore (Pakistan) which was won
by the Dutch national team.
The win against Kampong was nice but for a derby like this not many players had to
be motivated. The at first site weaker Venlo win was (beside the beautiful goals) much
more appealing since winning at this stage from lower ranked clubs is what you're supposed
to do, so no slips are made.
Ladies 1 played a 1-1 this weekend. They are still going
strong in the "sub-top" which is very good for this young team with so many
changes in their formation since last year. Coach Rutger Klein (who was also active as
coach of the Canadian mens team at the World Cup Hockey in Utrecht this year) looks like a
promising coach for this team. Such a start in the first year is not bad at all.

The men 1st team lost 3-4 on our home-pitch to Hurley
(Amsterdam).
Did you know that at an (added at the end of the season)
equal number of gamepoints (3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a lost game) not the best
goals for and against score is deciding who's higher than who but the number of matches
you've won during the season. This goes for all KNHB competitions.
