Gold
Part four
Mel sat
on the floor in front of Jade in the dressing room. Jade massaged her
shoulders.
"God
I'm sooo sore." complained Mel.
"Look
at it this way," said Linzi, "You were jumped on by Kidman." Jade put her head
in her hands and groaned.
"I
really should learn to wrestle." mused Linzi. Mel threw a towel at her. There
was a knock at the door and David entered.
"Great," said Jade, "You massage
Mel. We've got to get ready. We'll meet you back at the hotel."
"Don't
be too long." called out Linzi as Jade ushered her through the door.
"Oh and
you can tell David the plan now." added Jade.
"How do
I look?" asked Linzi, adjusting the thin straps on her dress. Jade surveyed her
critically.
"Do you
think the dress is short enough?" she asked at last.
"Yes I
do," retorted Linzi, "Any shorter and I'd be arrested for indecent exposure."
Mel knocked on the door and entered with David.
"Are we
all ready?" she queried, "Oh no Linzi's not. She has to put some clothes on."
Linzi spun around, her hands on her hips.
"That's
enough. You two picked out this dress for our plan."
"You
know what you have to do?" said Jade.
"Watch
and learn." said Linzi. David shook his head sadly.
"Poor
Kidman. He'll not know what hit him."
There
were whistles and cat-calls as the three girls entered the bar. They turned
heads normally, but tonight had dressed to kill. Or at least seriously maim.
Linzi got the first round of drinks.
"Kidman
isn't here yet." she said as she set the tray of drinks down.
"By the
way, what did Kidman say to you when you kissed him." asked Mel. Linzi started
to giggle.
"His
Mum was in the crowd. He was worried about what she'd think."
"How
sweet." laughed Jade.
"Well
I'm glad I didn't beat him in front of his Mom." stated Mel firmly. David
clasped her hand.
"Mel
that's so nice. You're such a lovely person." Linzi and Jade made loud gagging
noises. Mel and David were saved from further insults by the arrival of Kidman
with Juvi and Rey.
"Here
comes the victim." said Linzi, standing up and smoothing down her skirt.
"Lamb
to the slaughter." muttered Jade.
Kidman
was standing at the bar when he felt a hand touch his arm. He turn to look at
Linzi, his eyes widening appreciatively as he took in the way she was
dressed.
"Hi,"
smiled Linzi, "I just wanted to say sorry about embarrassing you in front of
your Mum."
"Urm,
thanks." said Kidman, conscious of the fact that Linzi's hand was still resting
on his arm. He cleared his throat. "Can I buy you a drink. To show there's no
hard feelings."
"Let me
buy you one," said Linzi, "To say sorry."
"Why
did you kiss me?" asked Kidman. Linzi stroked her finger down his arm and looked
up at him through lowered lashes.
"Just
impulse I guess," she shrugged, "You're an attractive guy." Kidman blushed. Juvi
and Rey sniggered.
"Weren't you guys going to shoot
some pool?" he asked, suddenly wanting to get rid of them.
"Why
don't play doubles," said Rey, trying not to smirk, "You and Linzi against Juvi
and I."
"Oh
that sounds like a good idea," said Linzi. She turned to Kidman, "I'm not very
good at pool. You'll have to show me how to play." Jade, who had come up to the
bar in time to hear this last exchange, giggled. Linzi glanced at her. Only Jade
and Mel knew that she had been a member of a pool hall since she was 15.
A
little later on, Mel was asking how Linzi was getting on. Jade looked discreetly
over to where Linzi was now curled up on a sofa next to Kidman.
"Pretty
well." she told Mel. David glanced over as well.
"Hook,
line and sinker, poor guy." he said.
"Time
for part two," said Jade, "I'm off to powder my nose." Linzi noticed Jade
standing up. This was her cue for part two.
"Excuse
me a moment," she said, "I'm just off to powder my nose."
Linzi
meet up with Jade in the ladies.
"How's
it going?" asked Jade, "You seem to be getting on pretty well." Linzi
smiled.
"He's a
pretty nice guy. Actually I'm quite enjoying myself."
"Surprise. Okay well you know what
to do now." said Jade. Linzi nodded and then concentrated. Jade was impressed.
Linzi's ability to cry on demand never failed to impress her.
Linzi
walked slowly back to Kidman. She sat down, slightly away from him, her head
averted.
"Is
something wrong?" he asked.
"No,
nothing really." said Linzi shaking her head. Kidman tucked her hair behind her
ear so he could see her face.
"Are
you crying?" he asked incredulously.
"Oh
I've just had this terrible argument with Jade in the ladies. She was really
horrible to me for talking to you. Do you know just lately she's been a pain.
Because I can't wrestle like her and Mel she treats me like dirt."
Kidman
put his arm round her to comfort her, stroking her arm. Her skin was soft under
his hand. He shook his head to clear the sudden image of them naked together
from his mind. Linzi snuggled against his chest, the mingled scent of her
shampoo and perfume drifting up his nose. Kidman shifted uncomfortably aware
that he was becoming very aroused. He noticed Jade, Mel and David leaving the
bar.
"Aren't
you sharing a room with Jade?" he asked. Linzi nodded.
"I'll
walk you back to your room," he offered, "Maybe you and Jade will get on better
in the morning.
Jade
was in the room when she heard them arrive at the door.
"Thank
you for walking me home." said Linzi.
"Well
hotel corridors can be hazardous." grinned Kidman. Linzi put her hand on his
upper arm.
"Thanks
for letting me pour my troubles out to you." she said softly. Kidman's mouth
went suddenly dry. She was so close all he had to do was bend down slightly
and...Jade flung open the door.
"I
wondered if you'd be sleeping here tonight?" she said nastily.
"What
is your problem Jade?" flung back Linzi, flouncing into the room.
"Goodnight." began Kidman as the
door was shut in his face.
"You
could've let him kiss me." grumbled Linzi as she removed her make up and brushed
her hair.
"I
thought I'd given you enough time," protested Jade, "I didn't know he was a slow
mover."
"Did
you not think to use the spy hole?" asked Linzi as she got into the other twin
bed.
"Ermm
no. Sorry."
