It's a kind of magic!
Part six
Billy
waited until Linzi's breathing showed that she was truly asleep before changing
back. Witka had thoughtfully put his rucksack in the room and he grabbed his
shorts out of it. He crawled into bed next to her. He lay back his arms behind
his head and gazed at the small figure curled up next to him. He shook his head.
'A werewolf and an elf,' he thought, 'It'll never work.' He pulled the covers
around him and fell asleep.
When
he woke they'd shifted position in the night and Linzi was lying against his
chest with his arm around her. His movements disturbed her.
"Morning."
He smiled down at her. She smiled back at him and pressed her body gently
against his in unmistakable invitation. Billy thought back to his musings in the
night. 'What the hell,' he decided, 'It's morning, I'm horny and she's willing.'
He rolled over.
"We
both know where we stand on this..." He began.
Nearly
everyone was downstairs eating breakfast when Nikki surfaced. She helped herself
to coffee and cereal again and sat down. When she had finished her breakfast
Nikki looked straight at Witka.
"What
is going on here?" she asked. Silence fell around the table. The
unmistakable sounds of an argument filtered through from upstairs. The silence
changed as everyone strained to hear. The voices came nearer and suddenly
exploded into the kitchen.
"Don't
be so bloody stupid." Billy was shouting at Linzi. She swung round and
grabbing a vase of the dresser threw it at him flowers and all. It bounced off
his shoulder and shattered on the wall behind him splashing him.
"Flea
ridden mutt." She yelled at him. Billy rushed at her pushing her backward
out of the room. Witka winced as the sound of two bodies thudding against the
oak panelling in the hallway was heard. The front door slammed shut and a bike
roared angrily as footsteps ran upstairs. Raven got to his feet.
"I'll
go after him." He said to no one in particular. Rae was already halfway
upstairs. About ten minutes later she and Linzi came back downstairs. Nikki
repeated her earlier question.
"Tell
me your suspicions." invited Witka.
"Well,"
began Nikki horribly aware that if she was wrong her new friends were going to
think that she was a prime case for the local loony farm, "Last night the
two men went outside and then there were two dogs. And Linzi has pointy ears and
Billy called her an elf."
"And
your point is?" asked Witka. Nikki took a deep breath and rushed on.
"I
think them two are werewolves and Linzi's an elf of some kind." She
finished. Rae clapped her hands in delight and even Linzi smiled slightly.
"Well
done." Grinned Witka.
"You
mean I'm right!" exclaimed Nikki shocked. Witka nodded.
"Rae
and I are true witches. Linzi's grandfather was an elf."
"Way
to go Grandma." Interjected Linzi sarcastically.
"Catherine
has slight psychic abilities and Katya..." said Witka. Linzi interrupted
"We
were fighting some vampires except Katya decided to sleep with one of them
instead." She said.
"It
wasn't my fault," protested Katya, "I didn't know he was a
vampire."
"You
just thought he had a really bad case of over bite." Said Linzi
sardonically.
"So
you're a vampire?" asked Nikki nervously. Katya shook her head.
"Not
really, but I will be when I die." She said. Nikki made a mental note to be
nowhere near her by that time. Witka turned to a more interesting subject.
