It's a kind of magic!
Part seven
Raven
caught up with Billy near the woods. They both stopped their bikes and Billy
threw himself down onto the grass.
"Wanna
talk about it?" Offered Raven sitting next to him.
"This
morning we were just about to, well you know." Started Billy. Raven nodded
in understanding. "And I just thought, to be fair to her, that I'd better
make it clear that it'd be a one off. That it wouldn't lead to anything
more."
"Big
mistake." Winced Raven.
"Yeah
well I know that now." Returned Billy.
"What'd
be so bad about a relationship with her?" asked Raven.
"Because,
in case you hadn't noticed, I'm a wolf," said Billy sarcastically,
"And there's a name for wolves who have an owner. They're called
dogs."
"Like
Witka and I?" asked Raven quietly.
"Yes.
No. Oh damn I didn't mean it like that." Said Billy.
"What
do you mean?" Grinned Raven.
"I
don't know," moaned Billy, "Either way, wolf or man, I'm not ready to
settle down yet."
"So
you do want to settle down with her eventually."
"I
DON'T KNOW." Yelled Billy, "Why does that damn elf do this to me every
time."
"Do
what?" inquired Raven. Billy glared at him as he got back on his bike
"It'd
never work, Raven," he insisted, "An elf and a werewolf. Imagine what
the kids would look like." They rode back in silence. As they dismounted
outside Witka's house Billy spoke again.
"Besides
we have more important things to think about. Have you told them yet?"
