Gangsters

Part seven

The following day Linzi was showing Gabrielle how to make scones with the twins 'helping'. Billy came in from the garden and stood in the doorway surveying the happy scene until Linzi noticed him.

"What do you want?" she snapped, the smile fading from her face. Billy produced a bunch of flowers.

"I thought I'd bring a present for my bride." He smiled advancing towards her. Linzi took the flowers and tossed them on the table.

"Thanks." She said shortly.

"I hoped a husband to be would get a better method of thanks than that!" he said softly. He was standing so close to her Linzi could smell the soft scent of his cologne.

"How?" she asked him warily.

"Like this." He replied his mouth descending on hers so quickly Linzi didn't have time to move her head. Dimly she realised of Billy's hands resting on her back holding her close to his muscular body. Stolen kisses at family occasions had never felt like this. Kissing Fingers Maloney had never felt like this she mused.

"Opps sorry am I interrupting." Laughed Sissy from the door. Linzi pulled away from Billy aware of three pairs of interested eyes gazing at her and even more aware of the fact that she'd actually been returning his kiss.

"No you're not interrupting anything." Said Linzi breathlessly.

"You must be Billy Luciano," smiled Sissy, shaking his hand, "I'm Tina Argolia, known as Sissy." Linzi glared at Sissy who unashamedly grinned back. "You mother told me about the good news, Linzi. Congratulations."

"It's not good news." Scowled Linzi, rolling out the dough as if Billy's head was under the rolling pin. Kelley entered the kitchen. Gabrielle eyed her and tugged on Linzi's sleeve.

"Are you going to have a baby now?" asked the nine year old innocently.

"What!" exclaimed Linzi.

"Well Papa told Mama that Uncle Scott just has to kiss Auntie Kelley for her to have a baby and Billy's just kissed you." Explained Gabrielle. Billy and Sissy sniggered while Kelley looked interested. Linzi wished the floor would open up. She was quite pleased for the interruption when Billy's henchmen entered from the garden. The short one glanced at his companion who was staring open mouthed at Sissy.

"Hi, I'm Rey." He introduced himself.

"Sissy." She replied shaking his hand. She turned to the other man.

"Craig." He mumbled blushing furiously as he shook her hand. Chris and Dionico entered.

"Hello Sissy." Said Dionico with a glare at the obviously smitten Craig. Sissy gasped and blushed as red as Craig as Dionico leant over and unexpectedly kissed her cheek. Craig looked upset.

"Come on guys, we've got things to do." Said Chris. The men left the kitchen.

"See you later darling," murmured Billy kissing Linzi on the cheek before moving nimbly out of the way as she tried to bring the rolling pin crashing down on his head.

"So you were kissing him?" said Kelley when all the men were out of earshot.

"No. He was kissing me. There is a difference." Said Linzi.

"You weren't exactly fighting him off." Remarked Sissy still glowing from Dionico's peck on the cheek.

"The dough's not meant to be that thin Linzi." Interjected Gabrielle. Linzi muttered a curse and thumped the dough back into a ball.

"You didn't stop Dionico." Pointed out Linzi.

"That's different." Said Sissy smiling at the memory.

"You don't suppose it had anything to do with Billy's friend. What's his name?" said Kelley.

"Craig," supplied Sissy, "No. I think he's decided to show his true feelings for me with all this romance in the air." Linzi looked at her friend.

"I hope you don't get hurt." She muttered to herself.
