It's a kind of magic

Part nine

Nikki looked uncertainly at the helmet in her hands.

"You can ride behind me." Offered Linzi.

"Or if you want to get there in one piece." Muttered Billy. Linzi glared at him. Witka sighed. They were riding into a serious battle. Two of her army weren't talking to each other and another was head over heels in love with the enemy.

"You can ride behind me." Said Catherine. Nikki smiled and got on Catherine's bike. Linzi revved her engine.

"Let's go," she shouted, "To infinity and beyond." She roared off in a cloud of dust.

"Damn elf." Muttered Billy as he and Raven took off after Linzi. The rest of the group caught up with them half way down the road.

Down town, in a house not too far from where the witches and companions were heading, Sean Waltman and Roaddogg were entertaining. Sean was desperately trying to involve his big red tag partner in the conversation. Kane looked up.

"It's started." He rumbled the first words he'd spoken all evening.

"What has?" asked Sean.

"The fight," Replied Kane, "I must go." He stood up.

"Hold on," said Sean, "Let me get my shoes." Kane looked at him bewildered.

"There will be danger." He warned.

"All the more reason to have your friends along as back up." Dogg told him.

"You are my friends?" asked Kane in the soft tones of an uncertain child.

"Sure man," replied Sean, "You were there for us when it counted now we're going to be there for you." The trio headed out of the door.

"Friends." Whispered Kane almost smiling.

The motorbike cavalcade swept to a halt outside an unprepossessing house.

"Is this were they are?" Whispered Nikki. Katya shook her head.

"We're just picking Raven's sister up." She said.

"Oh." Said Nikki feeling stupid for her melodramatic whispering. A young girl ran out of the house and jumped onto the back of Raven's bike.

"Is she like them?" asked Nikki.

"Sort of," replied Katya, "She can't change at will like they can. She has to wait for a full moon." The bikes started up again, Katya leading the way until they arrived at an abandoned church.

"Here," said Katya, "This is where they are." They quickly found a way to sneak in and Rae and Witka set up a stronghold. Rae finished the last force spell around the room. Catherine lifted up her head.

"They're here," she said, "And they've got someone."
