HITTING TIPS

HITTING TIPS

KEEP YOUR HEAD IN

When you're wanting to learn to hit a baseball, the most important thing I can say is to keep your eye on the ball. I know it may sound lame and old fashioned, but you can't hit what you can't see. I know that many of you have heard that before, and you think that I'm stupid for telling you this, but I just can't express it enough. THE NUMBER ONE REASON WHY PEOPLE TAKE THEIR EYE OFF THE BALL WHEN THEY'RE HITTING IS THEY TRY TO SWING TOO HARD. If you have good mechanics and a solid swing that balls going to go no matter how hard you swing. Also another reason why someone might pull their head out is because of their stance. Remember that no two people have they exact same stance. You have to find the stance that feels comfortable for you, not the stance that feels comfortable for Ken Griffey, Jr. or Mark McGwire.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

Whenever I might tell somebody a tip on how to improve their game they listen to me and understand what I'm saying, but they just don't do it. You can never expect to get any better if you don't keep practicing. One thing I do when I'm at home, is I get somebody to throw me some frozen peas while I hit them. After doing this for the first time, In four games I hit two homeruns(the first two of my life!)So I kept doing it for the rest of the season and that year I made the all-star team. So I can stress enough to just practice, practice, practice.
