| Hello
everyone, and welcome to the very first issue of Pain Tolerance.
This column will be updated every single Monday. So without anymore
interruptions lets get this one up and running.
This
week's column will mainly be focused at the stupidity of some professional
wrestler gimmicks. Since the beginning of man the motto has been, trick
me once, shame on you, trick me twice, shame on me. Well obviously some
pro wrestling bookers need to be clued in on that. A classic example of
what I'm talking about would have to be the Bret Hart and his brother Owen
Hart saga of a few years ago in the WWF. Bret and Owen were allies until
Survivor Series 93, I believe, and then Owen lost the match from colliding
with his injured brother Bret who was resting on the ring apron. A few
years went by and Bret and Owen reunited and formed the new Hart Foundation.
Another example would be the Shawn Michaels/Diesel feud that evolved into
the final match of Diesel's (Kevin Nash) WWF career. Although they might
have been friends backstage and in real life the WWF bookers portrayed
these two as, two dumb founded idiots who couldn't sort their friend from
their enemies.
It
seems the bookers don't acknowledge the fact, or see this and just continue
to create gullible wrestlers who will team up with anyone. Look at Triple
H right now. He recently abandoned D-Generation X to pursue a career with
the Corporation. Does that seem odd to you or what? Triple H bring in the
New Age Outlaws a year ago, as well as X-Pac, then a year later he turns
his back on them and joins their enemy. Yet X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws
continue to keep D-X alive? Just seems pretty dumb to me. The only thing
that interests me about this whole fiasco is now Kane has been brought
into this picture and now he is a co-owner of the WWF tag team titles with
X-Pac. But wait doesn't D-X already have a tag team out hunting to regain
the titles? Yes and that's why I am hoping at Backlash we see a X-Pac/Kane
vs. NAO for the tag titles. Hopefully they will end this bitterly or something
along the lines to end the DX era. To me the DX era was a clever
way to push each of the group members who had failed miserably in past
gimmicks. Such as Rockabilly, and The Real Double J, or the 1-2-3 Kid.
If DX finally come to an end and all of the group were pushed into singles,
then we'd truly see who carried DX, and who just road along for the ride.
Now
onto another topic. This is were you readers can have your say. I have
decided I will run a poll each week. This week's poll is if you were starting
your own federation, and were allowed to have five wrestlers (male)
from any organization/federation, who would they be? Also include four
females from in wrestling right now, that you would choose. Next week I
will post some of the your choices so go ahead and start thinking, once
you've picked your five wrestlers and four women send your list to me at
[email protected]
Now,
here's my choices.
Chris
Jericho: Gotta take em. He's always improving his mic skills, and trying
something different each time he goes out there. He'd be a good pick in
my decision.
Shawn
Michaels: Yeah, so what if he's "retired" (I still think he's coming back
sooner or later.) In my opinion of the greatest technical/experienced wrestlers
in wrestling.
Undertaker:
Gotta add some flavor to this federation, and adding the lord of darkness
to your side is just another step in my opinion at making a great federation
Mick
Foley: You may hate this guy...but hell, you gotta respect the bumps he's
taken. Did the last Hell in the cell with UT Vs. Bossman show you how pathetic
a Hell in the Cell match can be without a risk taker involved.
Steve
Austin: Yeah he may be a lousy wrestler, but some people like em, some
people hate em. But it's no secret when he walks out of the dressing room,
and steps through the curtains the arena erupts, and seems like it's going
to collapse.
Now
for my four women:
Tammy
Sytch: She's the only female that can get over with the fans without getting
naked or showing a lot of skin....gotta like talent like that.
Francine:
Hell, she's hot...she can take bumps and...HELL SHE'S HOT!
Beulah:
Heh, does this seem like an ECW reunion? Well Beulah is basically just
like Francine. She's hot, she can take bumps, and basically is someone
I would want in my federation..
Missy
Hyatt: Truly the first lady of wrestling. Very hot, can work the mic, and
has brains.. |
