Welcome back to the second edition of the Pain Tolerance column.  Well before I get started, I'd just like to say a few things. First off, it's been a whole week and you've seen all the special features of the newsletter brought to you by the FWN Staff and owner Chris Kitching, and I don't know about you readers but in my opinion this is one of the best newsletters I've ever read, and for me to be apart of it, I'm very fortunate. Now, onto this week's column. Hope you all enjoy, and if you don't? Well you can always e-mail and give me your opinion on what you liked/disliked about it. Anyway, with out further a due. Here it is.

When I began thinking of what to write about this week, I thought of a number of possibilities. I thought I'd do a column about how WCW has been copying the WWF.  But when I went to sit down and write it, it just didn't seem interesting. So I came up with an idea to talk about the recent flocking of talent from the small little island of ECW to the main land known as WCW. First off, I don't have any clue why WCW purchased the talent of Mikey Whipwreck. As far as I know the guy is zero for four. Does this tell you something about Eric Bischoff, and WCW in general? It seems 0Bischoff has set out, not to win the ratings or bring great wrestling to the fans, but to literally blow the competition out of the water. He's taken WWF talent for years, but the WWF has grew and now is above WCW, so he has focused his attack on the smaller organization, the cult of pro wrestling, ECW. There was no need for him to acquire Hak, or Whipwreck, or Bigelow. WCW has tons of guys that they could push up into the world title scene. We all know that WCW has plenty of jobbers and mid card talent as well. So there was no need to add another group of wrestlers to an already ample sized roster.  It's really too sad that most people would sell out for the green as Bigelow, Hak and Whipwreck did. Did these three guys actually think they would be pushed heavily into the spotlight in WCW, with all the egos already combined in there? One thing is, most people, like myself who live in Canada, do not get ECW in our area, so it is refreshing to see Hak and Bigelow go at it with Chasity on the outside with a ring full of dented trash cans, a busted fire extinguisher laying around with tables broken in half and much more chaos going down.

With that said, I'd just like to comment on some little things that have happened lately in the world of pro wrestling. First off about Davey Boy Smith. It's truly sad about what happened to him. He wasn't one of my favorite wrestlers, but I always liked seeing the Bulldog come out and put on a good match. Just a little piece of history for you all, if you can remember the Dynamite Kid who was Davey's tag partner in the WWF late 80's to earlier 90's, anyway he retired from the sport because of the same reason with several back injuries throughout his career.  Next on my agenda is the new Nitro lay out. Yeah it's two weeks old. But when you live in Canada you don't see Nitro till the Wednesday of that week, so it's delayed two days. From what I've been reading of the Internet, some people like the new lay out, some people like it but hate the new WCW logo, which some say looks like a star trek logo. Well I actually like the new logo. I must say it's about time WCW has adapted and changed the set. They've had that same old set for five years, and as Owen Hart would say, it's time for a change. Only thing is, they made this new walk way but it's obviously a danger to the wrestlers who have to walk over this large bump in the middle. They have to get that repaired soon.

Now with the column out of the way, it's time for your input. This is were you, the readers can have your say. I have decided I will run a poll each week.

Last week's poll was. If you were going to start your own federation, and you had the choice of any five wrestlers and 4 women, who would they be.

The top 5 chosen wrestlers and 5 top chosen women were:
The Rock with 8 votes
Stone Cold Steve Austin with  7 votes
Chris Jericho with 5 votes
Shawn Michaels with 4 votes
Mic Foley with 6 votes.

The women were as follows:
Tammy Sytch with 12 votes
Beulah with 6 votes
Sable with 5 votes
Francine with 5 votes
Chasity with 4 votes

Thanks to all for participating. I did not post any of the e-mails this time around due to the type of question and the limited space I have.

Now, this week's poll is. If you were tag team champions of WCW but your partner just got injured. Who would you choose as you new partner.  The only catch of this weeks poll is, your new partner must be chosen out of the WCW roster. Try and pick someone who would be an all around great tag partner. Someone who is reliable, has a great work ethic and is over with the crowd either as a heel or face. Also when sending in your choice. Remember to tell me WHY. Next week I will post some of the your choices so go ahead and start thinking, once you've picked your tag partner send it to me at [email protected]
