This week’s Pain Tolerance is now online. For the puppy loves out there, your dreams came true last night for sure.  Hope you all had a good week, and enjoyed the "show" last night, and the entertainment in the past week of wrestling. In tonight’s column, topics that will be discussed are, Miss Kitty’s flashing and an Armageddon review, thoughts on the Advertisers/PTC group controversy with the WWF, WCW Saturday Night, and to wrap this week’s column up, this week’s failed gimmick of the week.

If you’ve been watching the WWF for more then a year, you’ll remember back to last year’s Over The Edge, I believe, where Sable came out with just painted on finger prints over her breasts. Then this past year Jeff Jarrett lost a match and the stipulation was Debra had to get naked. Well, Sable’s breasts were partially covered, and we all know, that Debra’s show, didn’t last long as she was stopped, with her bra an panties. Well last night, the puppy chants were answered, the teasing was over. The gown came off, the bra came off and we "finally" saw the cute little noses of the puppies, to quote Lawler. Was it needed? Her wet bra was enough of a show for her to get over. When looking at this situation, I’m having to look at it in two scenarios. I’m a male who doesn’t mind looking at women, whatsoever. But, then, what I had small children, and I was live at the arena with them, or even watching at home, do I want them to hear the thousands of fans in attendance, and even the few at home chanting, "We Want Puppies"? Some people mind, but if I were to be a reasonable guardian or parent I definitely think that a child in school is way to young to be there, or even watching. It’ll be very interesting to see what advertisers, the media and even the "beloved" PTC do when they find out about what went down last night. Sure, some of you will be emailing me stating it’s a pay-per-view, therefore only people that bought it would have been able to view it, well that pay-per-view was still designated as a TV-14 rated. Besides, now that they have teased, and teased and teased, and finally shown it. What will they do next? Will this become a regular part of the show. But, what if your offended by the nudity? I don’t mind some of the females mixed in with the show, but if they are going to more and more raunchy things, we might as well just go watch some porno movies if you want to see sex. If you want to see the wrestling, then we’re going to have to switch to a different federation, or just put up with the nudity. One thing that has to be asked is, will this have a major impact on the WWF’s steam roll like success. It would be a shame for this one thing to be the turnaround that finally blows the WWF’s success out of the water. PTC would just love that.

Anyway, besides the Miss Kitty show, we did see an excellent card, that I enjoyed thoroughly. The only thing that lacked, was the name of the pay-per-view. If any of you have ever read a bible, it talks about the Armageddon (Revelation 16:16). The definition is, that the Armageddon is the final confrontation/ware of two superior powers, i.e., the Lord and Satan. Well in the WWF’s case it was Vince McMahon vs. Triple H. Sure the match was pretty solid and was decently worked by both men, but it lacked the intensity, I was hoping for. Also, I was hoping for a Taker return, but to no prevail. It would have worked out well if the Undertaker had of returned last night, due to the title of the pay-per-view. During the summer, nearly every promo or interview he cut, had something to do with Armageddon, and with his protégé, Big Show as the WWF Champion now, it would have been only fitting to set up a Taker/Show feud, at the top of the WWF, leading us into the new year. Anyway, here’s a run down of the matches that took place last night.

Dudley Boys vs Edge and Christian vs Headbangers vs Hardy Boys vs Mean Street Posse - We’ve seen the team of Too Cool, LITERALLY become over with the fans, it’s amazing how two guys who first got together, couldn’t get heat if their life’s depended on it, but with some minor adjustments, a new entrance theme, more air time and a little bit more freedom, has progressed their talent in to a fan favorite tag team. I was really hoping for Too Cool to pull out the win here, but unfortunately they were knocked out fairly early in the match. Godfather/Henry was a waste of time, the Headbangers looked as though they could not work at all with those long robe like costumes. The Dudlyez showed some experience as they hung on as long as they could but were executed promptly. It seems it’s been "Screw the Hardyz Month" in the WWF. First with the tag team championship match on Smackdown a few weeks back, and then now this. Looks as though they won’t be getting the titles until well after the Royal Rumble in January. Possibly at Wrestlemania 16/2000? Sure would be exciting to see some sort of gimmick tag match between the Hardyz and Edge/Christian. But hopefully, they will break these two teams up, and let them start up feuds  with other teams. Seeing these two teams go at it each week could get boring or at least annoying. Just look at the RVD/Lynn saga over in ECW.

Kurt Angle vs. Steve Blackman - When the fans begin to chant boring, it really shows you that they aren’t there for the wrestling, as much any more. Angle wrestles pure amateur style, with some mixed in professional basic moves. Lawler said it correctly, "Now a days, if your not doing moonsaults or back flips the fans think your boring." A lot of people just don’t like this style of wrestling, and that is truthfully why the promoters don’t focus as much on the wrestling, but more on the entertainment and show aspect.

Miss Kitty vs. Jacqueline vs. B.B. vs. Ivory - Relatively a short match, besides the post-celebration from Miss Kitty, this match pretty much sucked. It was definitely not a wrestling match, nor where any holds used. Basically just knock you opponent down, and strip away. Sadly though, we have a champion now that is not a legitimate wrestler. Welcome back to the Sable days.

Rikishi and Viscera vs. The Hollys - Mostly everyone thought this was going to be a squash by the two men, bu setting up a feud between the two, however they turned out on the loser’s end, but should be feuding soon, as it looks from last night’s confrontation, and small(no pun intended) fight between the two large men.

Val Venis vs. The Bulldog vs. Dlo Brown - I’ve never really been a big fan of triple threat style matches. I’d rather see it sort of gauntlet style, where to win, you must defeat BOTH men, and if your pinned or submit you must go back to the locker room, why the remaining two fight. Pretty average match with the usual tactics in a triple threat match. The ending however, was very nicely put together.

X-Pac vs. Kane - Not much special in this one. Tori looked pretty good in her outfit, and took some heavt bumps. It was good to see Kane win, maybe we can have some closure to this feud, since it’s going no where. Thing I want to know is, Tori was a fairly good women’s wrestler, yet now she is scared to even look around a corner by herself? Only way I see the feud of Xpac/Kane continuing is for Xpac to challenge Tori to a match at Royal Rumble. Other than that, please end this boring feud now.

Chris Jericho vs. Chyna - Damn can Jericho work the crowd. When he gets out on the floor and starts delivering hard shot after hard shot, and hearing Lawler and Ross put him over, it sounds like he literally tying to take the breath from his opponent’s body. Ever notice that Jericho matches are the most dramatic? When he cinches on Walls of Jericho in the middle of the ring, and Chyna, SLOWLY but surely is inching her way to the ropes, can’t get any more dramatic then that. Then he just drags her back in and clamps down any more, and then, you see the opponent tapping.

The Rock & Mankind vs. New Age Outlaws - I really am getting bored of watching the Rock wrestle. Yes, he’s the number one guy right now. Yes he’s got some great catch phrases, and yes he’s the two move wonder. Sure he’s on top now, but how long can you last with the same routine over and over and over? How many times is he going to show his fetish for shoving shiny objects up other opponent’s rectums? This match, was the low light of the card for me.

Big Boss Man vs. Big Show - Not much better, but at least this match was quick. If Bossman had of won, I think Stephanie and Shane should be looking for a senior home for Linda and Vince, because simply, Bossman is not main event caliber. He shouldn’t even be on a pay-per-view.

Triple H vs. Mr. McMahon - Well a pretty solid match but went too long in my opinion, and the ending was so-so. It’s Armageddon, your supposed to stop at no costs. Even though Stephanie not hitting Triple H was part of the set up, it should of worked out that way. What’s the use of turning her heel on Vince? Is it me or is the McMahon family really untrustworthy? Wonder what they do at Christmas, steal each other’s present’s right from below their tree?

Well that’s all for Armageddon, now the PTC/WWF feud died down over the past week, since two smackdowns ago, the WWF promised to change. Well what did they do on RAW this past week? No DIFFERENT then before. They ad the Godfather and his ho’s, Triple H with an interview that was basically totally bleeped out by TSN, here in Canada, ironically they didn’t bleep out Stephanie calling Triple H, a son of a, well you get the point. With the even more edgy RAW, and the usual controversial Smackdown, and then now the very risqué pay-per-view, what can this lead to with the Parents Television Council’s "concern" for children and what they watch?

Now, for some of you that don’t like younger talent wrestling, then you probably do not enjoy WCW Saturday Night. But, this week, I watched the complete show, and damn I was impressed. Some of those guys can work just as well as any of the top players in the WWF, WCW or ECW for that matter. One that stands out specifically, is Devon Storm. He’s been on WCW Saturday Night the past couple weeks, but this past Saturday he took on the Canadian Crippler, Chris Benoit. BEST WRESTLING MATCH I have seen in a long time. Pure wrestling, wrestling hold, counter. Wrestling hold, counter, counter, counter. These two knew counter after counter for each move executed. Devon Storm, who looks a bit like Kanyon, really has a promising future, and within a couple of months, should be on Nitro or at least Thunder, since he is so damn good. There were a lot of other guys such as Kid Romeo who looked pretty impressive as well, and for some of you who think it’s just all young "jobbers". It’s not. This past week they had, Benoit as already stated, the Wall (Wait isn’t he a jobber), and Jeff Jarrett, who many of you have bombarded me with emails over my comments last week on him, stating he is the top heel of the WCW future.

Almost done for tonight’s issue. Only thing left is, the Failed Gimmick of the Week. Now this week’s Failed Gimmick of the Week is…..  the entire Revolution stable. Where is this group going? Definitely not up. The Powers that be, should split the group up, put Asya and Saturn together, since the two of them look well together, and there seem to be some wrestling chemistry as well. Then with Malenko, give him one good solid push, that’ll elevate him to the top of WCW, even if it’s just for a few weeks, he at least deserves that. When you look back at his career in WCW, he really hasn’t had a good match since his feud with Chris Jericho a while back. The two of them brought the best out of each other. Finally, Shane Douglas, well he sure isn’t impressive in the ring, and although he has been praised for his mic skills in the past, mainly in ECW, I however, don’t see any difference between Douglas and Sid working the mic, and we all know how complicated Sid gets on the mic.

Thanks for reading, and I’ll be back next Monday with an all new Pain Tolerance. I hope you all enjoyed this week’s issue. Enjoy the wrestling. Also, for you readers that would like to see a complete archive of my column, Pain Tolerance, dating back to the very first issue, back in April of 1999, then please visit http://insanewrestle.cjb.net thanks.
