Things I have Learned...
Relaxation
For many, golf is a game of frustration, hate, and anger. Well, in order to be a truely good player, you have to look past your instinct emotions. I have started to do this by slowing myself down and finding the muscles in my body that are tense, and doing some stretches to relax them. Another thing that may actually work for people is going to a "happy place". For me, it is standing at the edge of the 4th fairway at Running Y and looking out into the wilderness.
You just have to close your eyes and take yourself there. Once you do this, you may get feelings of relaxation and feel tension leaking out. These are all things I suggest doing if you want to control your emotions, keep a flow, and play your absolute best
Pressure...
Pressure has always seemed to be a battle for golfers at any level. Things are always easier said than done, no matter what anyone says. I've seen players play their whole round like it was the last shot of their life and it had to be perfect(Which works for some intense people). You never want to put too much pressure on yourself or play tense or else you will disappoint yourself too often. Trust that what you have will get you to your destination, the hole. If you can't trust yourself, practice. If you still can't after that, golf is not your game.
A very important thing...
The one most important thing that a golfer must know to keep themself in the game is to never get too frustrated with oneself. It is very easy to slip away and complain about bad breaks and/or bad shots. Good golfers leave the bad things behind them and take the rest of the round one shot at a time.
